Is there a minimum size requirement for my cards if I am handmaking them?

You should be able to create no more than 2 cards from one standard sheet of paper!

Do I have to put a return address on the envelope?

Accepted Answer

No, you do not have to put a return address on the envelope if you don't feel comfortable including it!

Do I have to write my card in English?

Accepted Answer

No! In addition to English, we accept cards written in French, traditional Chinese writing, and simplified Chinese writing.

What should the letter contain?

Accepted Answer

The cards should contain thoughtful, uplifting, and cheerful messages. Letters should be handwritten and contain an introduction of yourself. You can also include any hobbies, interests, or past-times. More ideas are outlined in the card writing guidelines section of our website

How do I start the card?

Accepted Answer

When starting your card, we suggest using openers such as "Dear friend", "Greetings", "Hello" and "Hi there".

How do I end the card?

Accepted Answer

We suggest using sign-offs such as "Love", "Your Friend", "Take Care" or "Warmly", followed by your first name! If you don't feel comfortable writing your name, feel free to write "Anonymous"!

Will I get any confirmation that you have recieved my card?

Accepted Answer

If you want confirmation that we have received your card, you may add a separate slip of paper in the envelope with your name and email. We’ll then contact you when we have received your card!

Can I receive volunteer hours for writing a card?

Accepted Answer

Yes, you can gain volunteer hours for writing cards to Seniors!
