Writing a Card
Program Update:
Our General Card Writing Program has ended.
We invite you to continue writing cards through our Senior Nomination Program. Writing to a specific senior allows your card to be more personal, thoughtful, and meaningful.
Note: If you are part of a company looking to volunteer (either independently or part of a group), you will still be able to do so. Please contact our External Relation Director, Areej El-Sharif, using your work email for more information.
For information on how to send a card through our Senior Nomination Program, visit that section of our website here.
Our Guidelines
Before sending a card to one of our nominated seniors, here are some guidelines:
1.
Your message must be handwritten.
2.
Please write at least 3 sentences, with an average of 15-20 words per sentence.
3.
Write legibly and in large print.
4.
Make your message kind and thoughtful. Cards written with offensive or inappropriate content will not be accepted.
5.
Do not include any loose glitter, confetti or snacks.
6.
Do not write "get well soon", "my condolences" or anything similar anywhere in the card. Language that is condescending, such as mentioning that a senior is nearing the end of their life, is not permitted.
7.
Avoid mentioning religion.
11.
Send as many cards as you like. There is no limit! Be creative and have fun!
